About the speakers

Mr. Jacky Yu Tang graduated from the Business School at Monash University in Australia with a Master's Degree in Risk Management. He is currently the Assistant General Manager and Chief Risk Officer of Zurich General Insurance Company (China) Limited.

At present, in his spare time, Mr. Tang also pays special attention to the construction of the solvency regime of the insurance industry and the impact of sustainable development of the insurance industry, including prudential regulation of the insurance industry, solvency regulation, climate risk assessment for the insurance industry, implementation of sustainable insurance principles and ESG international regulatory requirements of the insurance industry. 

Mr. Haoyu Liu holds a Bachelor's Degree in Math and Applied Math from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and a Master's Degree of Applied Actuarial Science from the University of Kent. He qualified as a Fellow of the IFoA in 2013.

Mr. Haoyu Liu is now the Partner of Governance, Risk and Compliance Services, KPMG (China), a Member of the ALM Committee of Insurance Asset Management Association of China, and a Specialist Committee Member of China Insurance Security Fund.

Mr. Liu is also the adjunct Associate Professor at the University of International Business and Economics and the advisor from industry for the university's Master's Programme.

The Global Risks Report 2023 was released on January 11 2023 at World Economic Forum. This is the 18th time that the WEF has published a report on global risks which has attracted the attention of global business leadership and major economic organisations. The report provides a comprehensive analysis and assessment of the development trends of major global risks in the future and proposes relevant countermeasures to each key global risk.

At the same time, ESG and green finance are attracting increasing attention in the operation of insurers. Recently, domestic, and overseas governments, industry bodies, and regulators continue to promulgate relevant policies, regulations, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to encourage insurers to comprehensively improve and optimise the existing management models from the perspective of sustainability.

For key perspectives such as corporate governance, product development and asset management, the insurers are encouraged to achieve the overall improvement of the economic value and social value, from the dimensions of financial disclosure, social benefits, and other aspects of the company strategy.
