Volunteer Recognition Pins
We at the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries decided that we wanted a more tangible way of recognising the efforts of our volunteers. This page explains our thinking behind the new Volunteer Recognition Pins and "Volunteering Ambassadors".

| Silver volunteer recognition pins | Gold recognition pins for Council members |
From the 2012/2013 sessional year onwards, we are introducing a new way of recognising our active volunteers.
Silver volunteer recognition pins will be given to all our active volunteers who would like to wear one when attending meetings and events on behalf of, or to promote, the profession.
Council have been presented with gold volunteer recognition pins.
By wearing these lovely pins this will allow us to show our appreciation to you, our valued volunteers, in recognition of all your support, and you, as our current active volunteers, will be able to additionally act as “Volunteering Ambassadors” – highlighting the fact that you are an active volunteer and hopefully encouraging other members to approach you. This will provide an opportunity for them to ask you about volunteering for the profession and to find out more and perhaps get involved themselves.
Any member who is a current active volunteer and who would like to wear one of the pins should speak to their main contact within the profession’s executive staff, or contact Debbie Atkins, Head of Volunteer Engagement.
