The Pensions Board operates within terms of reference, the primary focus being:

• To support members, in the UK and overseas, and to promote high standards of actuarial practice in pensions
• To work with the Public Affairs Directorate on responses to external consultations relating to pensions
• To stimulate and provide a focal point for knowledge development, particularly research
