Committees
The Life Practice Executive Committee (LPEC) is the senior committee that advises the profession on key Life issues. The committee is supported by a number of specialist subcommittees. Membership is drawn from a broad cross-section of the Life community to ensure full coverage of all Life related issues.
The LPEC has set key objectives for Session 2012/13. These objectives focus on the following key themes:
- Actively influence the implementation of regulatory change including Solvency II in the UK through interaction with regulators and policy makers;
- Provide key support for members to prepare them for the implementation of regulatory change including Solvency II;
- CPD: ensure the CPD provision for members is sufficient and targeted at the appropriate level and themes, exploring new or different delivery methods;
- Research: develop, deliver and communicate the results of key research that informs members;
- Decide how best to support our members to perform influential risk management roles within the Actuarial and Risk Functions, supporting the ERM aspect of the profession’s strategy;
- Agree how best to support our overseas members, developing an understanding of their needs and geographic location and considering how their CPD needs could be supported; and
- Public Affairs: actively contribute to and where appropriate stimulate (eg SII), key public debate.
