Complaints
The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries is the regulatory body for actuaries in the UK. It deals with allegations of professional misconduct against individual members: Fellows, Associates, Affiliates and Students.
The Disciplinary Board oversees the management of this process.
Our members must comply with the:
- professional requirements in the Bye-laws and Rules of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
- Actuarial Profession Standards
- standards produced by the Financial Reporting Council
- Actuaries’ Code that requires them to maintain high standards of professional practice, ethics and conduct.
Most members do comply. However, occasionally things go wrong, and we have developed disciplinary procedures in order to enforce our professional requirements. These procedures are set out in the disciplinary scheme.
