Professional Skills Training

In line with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries' strategy, published in June 2011, we have conducted a fundamental review of our professionalism training, both structure and content.  The new structure takes account of the strategic aims to  achieve an integrated approach between education and regulation of members.

The Professional Skills Handbook gives details of the revised Professional Skills Training requirements applicable to members at various stages in their careers and is designed to help members to comply with the requirements as mandated by the Profession.

The new regime comprises the following three stages:

• Stage 1: Online Professional Awareness Test (OPAT)
• Stage 2: Professional Skills Course (PSC)
• Stage 3: Professionalism for Experienced Members
