Designated Professional Body Handbook for Licensed Firms [April 2013]

The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries is a Designated Professional Body and the arrangements that it has put together to enable firms, if licensed by the Institute, to enjoy the exemption from authorisation are set out in this Handbook.

 

Compliance Bulletins

The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries produces DPB Compliance Bulletins on general issues impacting on firms licensed by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. Firms are expected to adhere to the guidance included in Compliance Bulletins, unless advised to the contrary.

Institute of Actuaries as a Recognised Professional Body

Prior to December 2001, the Institute of Actuaries regulated a number of actuarial firms in its capacity as a Recognised Professional Body.   The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries has published a Compliance Bulletin reminding such firms of their continuing obligations regarding the investigation of all complaints relating to the conduct of their investment business during the period that they were licensed by the Institute of Actuaries.   For further information please contact DPB@actuaries.org.uk.
