With the introduction of Financial Reporting Standard 17 Retirement Benefits (FRS17) over the next two years, additional work will be needed by actuaries to produce the necessary numbers and disclosures for year-end accounts. This will place quite a focus on the delivery of actuarial figures for the preparation of company accounts this year. The Actuarial Profession is aware that there are concerns within the auditing world that there should be sufficient time to have figure work prepared and audited ahead of the tight deadlines within which companies report.
