The purpose of this guide is to provide a reading list suitable for actuaries who intend to start practising in the field of general insurance, having not recently been active in that field. Readers may be coming from a career break, or from abroad, or switching from another specialism. Rather than making a specific recommendation on what should be read, we have tried to include material on every relevant topic, and at different levels, leaving individuals to choose what material to read and in what order.
