PMI Working Party - the practitioners' guide

In the absence of the other Working Party members (Shrootin Shah, Rhys Evans, Haseeb Anwar), Neil Hilary and Steve Evans presented an update of the work done since the previous Healthcare Conference. The terms of reference of the Working Party were restated. The progress over the year was outlined (further work on recent PMI developments, additions to the bibliography, establishment of ownership for further updates of the Guide, publication of the Guide on the Institute of Actuaries' website). The access to the website and the Guide itself was demonstrated. During the discussion thereafter, the achievements of the Working Party were commended. Questions were again posed as to whether this would serve as a model for other areas within the profession (and Healthcare in particular) where available information had yet to be suitably gathered and whether we were ready yet to consider examinations in appropriate Healthcare subjects.
