Predicted tracking errors – the search continues

In June 2000 this working party produced a paper entitled “Predicted Tracking Errors: Fact or Fantasy?” This highlighted flaws in the tracking error predictions of risk models and raised concerns over the reliance placed on these predictions within the investment management industry. Two years (and one high profile court case) later we evaluate how the industry has responded to these challenges.
