The transitional state chain-ladder method

The purpose of this method is to offer the Reserving Actuary an alternative in cases where the Paid and the Incurred chain-ladder methods both fail to produce valid results. Based on the Chain-ladder this method gives an alteration which allows the separation of claims which Settle, from those that remain Outstanding, at each development period.
