CMI Working paper 14

Working paper 14 sets out the methodology used for the analysis of the 1999-2002 critical illness experience. The analysis methodology has been updated from that used for the 1998-2000 critical illness investigations to take account of new features of the data and further analysis.

The paper discusses the difficulties posed for the investigation by the substantial delays in the settlement of claims that have been observed in the data and invites feedback on the approach adopted.
