Do you want to get involved in either External research or member-led research?
External research
The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries' Management Board agreed on these topics for bids:
- Long term care
- Risk and uncertainty management
- Longevity/morbidity
- Resource, environment, energy
- Saving for retirement
- Discount rates
- Actuarial techniques in new areas (banking, building societies, infrastructure)
- Actuarial roles in defined contribution schemes
- Identifying risks to the Profession/inadequacy of actuarial data and techniques
- Solvency II

Member-led research
Stimulating and providing a focal point for member-led research falls to practice executive committees, and some of these committees have established sub-groups to stimulate and co-ordinate activity in their area.
