Exam appeals policy

You have the right to appeal against a decision of the Board of Examiners which affects you.

We would like to reassure you that all scripts are independently marked by two markers. The examining team then reviews any borderline scripts and, on some occasions, scripts may get a fourth review, to ensure that grades are accurately awarded.

If you are dissatisfied with the grade awarded to you, you may wish to consider using the exam counselling service. This gives you the opportunity to review your performance (although not the actual marks or grade awarded) and exam technique. In the unlikely event that an administrative error has occurred, it would be recognised within this process, negating the need for an exam appeal, and the exam counselling fee would be reimbursed.

You can find more information about the appeals process, including the application form, in the box at the right of this page.
