IFoA Strategy 2020 – 2024

We are very proud to set out our new five-year strategy, which we have developed over the course of the last year with input from our Management Board and Council.

We are very excited about our plans for the next five years. We know that our organisation needs to be flexible and adaptable, even more so in the light of the pandemic that we expect to have long-lasting implications for many companies and organisations. However, we feel our strategy is well thought through, ambitious and robust and will stand us in good stead to meet the challenges of the next five years.

Building on our strategy set out in 2016 we’ve sharpened our focus on three key priorities:

  • Ensuring a deep understanding of what is important to our current and future members
  • Supporting IFoA actuaries in adapting to change in existing sectors as well as moving into wider fields, specifically through a focus on developing skills and sectoral participation
  • Strengthening partnerships with a variety of stakeholders to enhance the reputation and influence of the profession worldwide.

Read more about our plans for the next five years in our Strategy 2020 – 2024 report.

The webinar will discuss the challenges and opportunities schemes face in evaluating end game options, choosing a target state and understanding the impact this strategic decision could have on member outcomes long after the “end state” is reached. Adolfo, Kevin and Rhian bring over 60 years of experience in the industry and a variety of perspectives as scheme actuary, covenant adviser, trustee, de-risking adviser and insurer.

  • Spaces available

Cash-flow driven investing is a game-changer for DB pension funds navigating their end-game. Suitable for sponsors who want to reduce risks on their balance sheets. And for trustees, it shifts the focus to providing greater certainty of returns, managing funding level volatility and ensuring they have enough income to pay cash-flow requirements.

  • Spaces available

The talk will provide an understanding of the priorities and relationships between deficit reduction contributions, in the context of wider scheme funding, and different types of value outflow from the employer based on the working party’s recently published report.
