The Actuaries’ Club

The Actuaries’ Club is the oldest actuarial dining club and indeed predates the inauguration of the Institute of Actuaries. Its members are actuaries who have achieved prominence either in the profession or in their own firms.

Meetings are usually held on Monday evenings five times a year at the Army and Navy Club in Pall Mall, London. Eminent speakers are invited to four of these dinners and a musical entertainment is provided at the December dinner.

Meeting dates for 2021/2022:

  • 13 September 2021 - Paul Johnson, Institute of Fiscal Studies
  • 2 November 2021 (Tuesday) - Angus Hanton, Intergenerational Foundation
  • 13 December 2021 - 'Fever Pitch'
  • 14 February 2022 - Lord Willetts, Resolution Foundation
  • 9 May 2022 - TBA

Anyone wishing to be considered for membership should contact the Treasurer in the first instance.

The importance of biodiversity for finance, business and policy is being increasingly recognised. While many studies highlight the overall economic impact that biodiversity loss could have, it is much more difficult to quantify and understand the particular impact that is may have on individual businesses or communities.
