About us

The Actuarial Club of India has been formed to provide a platform from which members can arrange actuarial events across India for the better engagement of students.

Events can take place anywhere in India with the aim of discussing current issues and sharing of knowledge not only from online channels but offline also enabling the flow of knowledge from the experienced to actuarial students.

Mayank Goyal, President

Mayak is not only an Actuarial student, but also a successful blogger, web designer, app developer, and author. He founded 'Insurology' whilst studying his Chartered Accountant course which acts as a blessing for actuarial students through its regularly updated bundle of articles and forums, giving insight into the insurance sector in India.

Arpit Surana, Vice PresidentArpit Surana, Vice President

Arpit Surana is a very hard-working and zestful person, he believes in the robust future of actuaries and leaves no stone unturned to make that happen. He did his bachelors in Actuarial Science and during his university days only he took the commendable role in the club and since then he is persistently working to make it better.

He currently manages over 8 volunteers, all social media platforms, social events, and a lot of other stuff. He is very amiable and loves to learn new things. He is the go-getter of the club. Contact him at:arpitsurana116116@gmail.com

Rishabh Surana, CoordinatorRishabh Surana, Coordinator

Rishabh is an ambitious student who is pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce from H.R. College of Commerce & Economics as well as interning in the Actuarial Department of Bharti AXA Life Insurance. He was conferred as ‘The Young Promising Leader’ for the academic year 2019-20 by the Math Club of his college.

His major interest includes Indian Politics, Equity Markets & reading Mythological stories. He is an active participant in intercollegiate events such as Business Games, Extempore, and Quizzes. He expands his horizons through blog posts on various actuarial topics. Hard work doesn’t scare him as his love for his projects is reflected in his work. The passion that he has for his career makes him strive to learn and improve himself daily.

Shivang Gumber, CoordinatorShivang Gumber, Coordinator

Shivang Gumber is an Economics Major from the University of Delhi with strong analytical skills. Always keen to learn and develop, his pull toward Maths and Computer Programming got him to pursue actuarial science. During his actuarial journey, he developed an interest in data analytics. He has developed various stochastic models including the likes of the Time Series Model to predict Delhi's Pollution Levels. He has also remained engaged in various activities at college.

Shivang continues to contribute to The Actuarial Club, his experience has been great, and he enjoys giving back to the actuarial community while learning various other skills during the process.

Mahidhara Davangere, Mentor

Mahidhara Davangere, Mentor

Mahidhara was one of the most active volunteers in the global profession. He was the first Indian member to be elected to the Council of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and championed the IFoA’s work in wider fields, particularly data science and banking. He also volunteered generously with the Institute of Actuaries of India and the International Actuarial Association.

For The Actuarial Club, he performed the role of Mentor to The Actuarial Club and its team and guided the club to take the right path. Find out about the Mahidhara Davangere South Asia Scholarship that was set up as an enduring tribute to Mahidhara.
