The invitation is not restricted to this location and is open to all IFoA members, and others, even if you do not live in the New York area.
We are delighted to support this member in the formation of this inaugural IFoA regional community and we are seeking expressions of interest from members, and non-members, who would like to be involved, either as a committee member or a participant in this regional community group.
The purpose of the committee
Together this group will arrange events for this self assembled community. In doing so, they will provide technical (CPD) events, as well as social and networking events. Led by Howard Zail, the committee will be able to make good use of the online event material and videos available from the IFoA. The committee members will be supported by the IFoA’s Stakeholder Relationship Manager who will highlight new material as it becomes available. As a group, the committee will also be able to benefit from the opportunity to collaborate and share best practice with the other IFoA regional community and society committees around the globe.
Make-up of the committee
It is hoped that the committee will be a good cross section of the following:
- representatives from a range of different practice areas
- different organisations in the city
- at least one Fellow, one Student and one non-member.
How to get involved
If you are based in New York, or the surrounding area, and would like to express an interest in being involved, please contact Debbie Atkins, Head of Engagement. When contacting Debbie please provide the following information:
- a brief note of your reason(s) for wishing to be involved and whether you wish to join the committee, or participate in the group
- a note of the geographic location where you are based
- your primary practice area(s)
- your company name (if applicable)
- a note of your ARN, if you are a member of the IFoA
if you are not a member of the IFoA, but would like to be involved, please provide a note of your contact details, including a phone number, email address and postal address.
After the closing date, all expressions of interest will be followed up by Howard Zail and the IFoA’s Stakeholder Relationship Manager. If you would find it helpful to find out more, before expressing your interest, please let Debbie know and she will be happy to put you in contact with Howard Zail.
