Nicola Oliver from Medical Intelligence will present a talk on game-changing cancer treatments, including details of treatments that harness the innate immune system to recognize tumours as foreign thus allowing the immune system to respond.   Nicola believes that this is the most exciting breakthrough in cancer treatment yet.

The talk will cover the following areas:

- Basic cancer biology
- How do current drug options work in combatting cancer and how effective are they? (i.e. survival rates from one or two of the main class of chemotherapy)
- The immune system – why doesn’t it fight cancer for us?
- New immunotherapies for cancer – developments and effectiveness
- A look to the future
