Honorary Fellowship

Each year, the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) asks members to nominate individuals for election to Honorary Fellowship of the profession

The criteria for nomination to Honorary Fellowship are set out in the IFoA's bye-laws and in subsequent guidance provided by Council

 Nominees should be individuals who:

  • "...have achieved distinction in related fields or given significant service to the actuarial profession." (bye-law 37)
  • can add value to the profession
  • have a direct connection with the profession
  • have an ongoing relationship with the profession.

Proposed Honorary Fellows will also be considered subject to the extent to which they support the profession's strategy.

  • The Growth Mindset for Actuaries

    This practical course is aimed at actuaries at any stage of their career who want to develop their own growth mindset and apply it to their work setting and personal or professional lifelong learning. The content of the course builds on the lecture given by Dr Helen Wright on Growth Mindset as part of the President’s 2021 Lecture series, and will be delivered over a period of 2 months, from mid-October to early December.

As a global profession, the actuarial community is well-placed to consider and propose effective risk management solutions to help manage the climate crisis.
