The partnership with our volunteers is central to making the IFoA a sought after, leading, professional body. Our volunteers give their time, effort and expertise in a wide range of roles, from speakers at our conferences to IFoA Council members and Board Chairs, all working in true partnership to support and develop our global profession.

At the IFoA, we all benefit from the time given by volunteers, who help develop, educate and regulate our members and advance our global profession through Celebrating our volunteersresearch and thought leadership.

Find out more about some of our volunteers on our volunteers’ experience page. Read their inspiring stories to learn what volunteering means to them.

Recognising our volunteers

We want to ensure that the invaluable contribution of our volunteers around the globe is recognised, and celebrated, and supported.

The IFoA is planning a series of global volunteer recognition receptions in the coming year to celebrate this partnership.

If you are an IFoA volunteer we will let you know when events are planned near you. You can also keep an eye on our events calendar or check the volunteer recognition page for details.

Saying thank you

We want to make sure we are offering our volunteers the support and recognition they deserve. Please take a couple of minutes to read a letter to our volunteers from IFoA President, Jules Constantinou and IFoA Chief Executive, Derek Cribb, where they thank all our volunteers, past and present, for all that they do.

“You are driving the IFoA forward and creating our future legacy.”

The letter also provides a welcome to our Volunteer Information Pack (VIP). The VIP is an online resource created for our volunteers as a ‘one stop shop’. It provides access to a rich library of material to help our volunteers find quick answers to questions about IFoA governance and strategic direction and offers helpful tips and ideas to support volunteers in their roles.

Share your views

Following feedback from this year’s volunteer satisfaction survey, we are looking at ways we can enhance the VIP.  If you particularly like a section, or identify something which you feel is missing, we would appreciate your comments. Thank you to the volunteers who have already provided their suggestions. This is very much appreciated.

We would also be keen to hear your ideas of how we can make the volunteer experience even better. If you would like to share your views please contact our Head of Engagement, Debbie Atkins.
