The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) has made a change to the criteria which applicants must demonstrate to be awarded a Practising Certificate.

Applicants no longer need to demonstrate three months' experience of work reserved for a certificate holder in the 12 months preceeding the date of application.

Instead, a successful applicant must demonstrate that he/she has gained three months' experience of work reserved for a certificate holder in the last 18 months.

This change comes into effect immediately.  All other elements of the Generic Criteria and the Technical Criteria for Practising Certificates remain unchanged.

Download the full communication about this change from Desmond Hudson, Chairman of the Regulation Board.
