A few weeks ago as the UK basked in a final heatwave of the summer the Health & Care Lifelong Learning Sub-committee met for its first meeting of the new session. It felt like back to school for us too.

Over the last session, we built on the success of our virtual conference in 2019 with a regular series of monthly webinars to continue to provide our community with varied and relevant high-quality CPD.

As you will have heard from Chris in his blog from the first Heath &Care Board meeting the Health & Care practice area see three key themes emerging as areas of focus for the current session:

  • Social Care, given the recent Government announcements
  • Sustainability and the specific challenges for our practice area
  • The use of data science in the Health & Care field

The Health & Care Lifelong learning sub-committee will be meeting in the coming weeks to start to put together this session’s programme to support these areas of focus and any other hot topics as they emerge.

If you have any ideas for topics or would like to share something you’ve been working on please do get in touch with the Communities Engagement Team.

September saw the launch of the IFoA’s new Events Strategy and we will be bringing you content within that framework. The primary channel for most IFoA events content will be digital; this will be complemented by a small number of in-person conferences. All regular online events will be free at the point of registration/access for IFoA members (all categories).
