The profession is looking to re-invigorate the Independent Financial Advisers' Member Interest Group (IFA MIG) and would like to invite all interested members to get involved.

This MIG will be of interest to:

  • actuaries working in a regulated capactity (covering adviser owned businesses; advisers within IFA firms; employee benefit consultants and compliance roles, etc); and
  • actuaries working in a non regulated capacity (product development, actuarial consultancy etc).

The MIG generally aims to provide a platform for members to share best practice, issues and opportunities; gain CPD from a regulated advice perspective; provide opportunities to strengthen the advice process; and act as an informal representative body for members providing financial advise.

We plan to organise a kick-off meeting (for September, date to be confirmed) to discuss how to carry forward the MIG including the scope of the MIG, developments on the horizon, future activity/priority issues to focus on etc, and you are invited to join this meeting.

If you are interested in joining our member interest group and/or would like to participate in the meeting, please notify Craig Ajimuda at craig.ajimuda@actuaries.org.uk .
