Public consultation meeting to discuss Exposure Drafts of Actuarial Profession Standards for life assurance actuaries

The second of two open consultation meetings to discuss Life Insurance Exposure Drafts 27 and 28 has been arranged by the Actuarial Profession to take place at Maclaurin House, 18 Dublin Street, Edinburgh, EH1 3PP, from 17.30 to 18.30 on Thursday 14 July. Refreshments will be served from 17.00.
CMI Working paper 52

The CMI has published Working paper 52, which presents cause-specific claim diagnosis rates for accelerated critical illness insurance, on a "lives" basis, based on data for nearly 16,000 claims settled in 2003-2006.
Call for proposals for research project on the effects of 'limits to growth'

The Actuarial Profession is inviting research proposals on the topic of the effects of 'limits to growth' on financial markets and consequential impacts on actuarial advice. Applications are invited by 12 August 2011.
