In June this year, Council agreed a new strategic direction for the Actuarial Profession.  The Profession is now seeking lead volunteers to assist with implementing the strategy and is inviting applications from members to fulfil these key roles.

A lead volunteer is sought to work within each of the Profession's directorate.  Whilst overall responsibility for project management and delivery remains with the Executive, our lead volunteers will ensure that members' expectations arising from the published strategy will be aired and considered in the development and delivery of this project.  They wil be expected to:

  • advise the accountable Director on resolving and prioritising conflicting members' needs;
  • act as a sounding board for the Director, sharing their views, ideas and providing constructive challenge.

This will involve:

  • attending key meetings;
  • attending project catch-ups with the responsible Director;
  • providing comment on draft papers.

The time commitment required will vary between projects, but is likely to be an average of one day per month (or two hours per week).

Further details about each of the lead volunteer roles are available on our volunteer webpage.

Please contact Debbie Atkins, Volunteer Engagement Manager, at debbie.atkins@actuaries.org.uk if you are interested in any of these roles, or for further information.
