Important information about your examination
Please note the following important information before you book your examination:
- We reserve the right to make changes to these dates.
- Although all our examinations are now delivered online they are examiner-marked and therefore subject to restrictions on candidate numbers.
- Each online exam has a set capacity, and these can get fully booked before the exam entry closing date. We therefore suggest you book early to ensure you get the exam place you are hoping for. As ever, the earlier you book the better your chances of avoiding difficulty.
When booking two-part examinations your booking confirmation will show only the date for the ‘A' examination. However your joining instructions, when issued, will cover both parts.
We strongly advise that you read all the information on our Online Examinations Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page before booking any examination.

September 2020 examinations
Before booking your examination please ensure that you have read our Online Examinations FAQs.
The CS1, CS2, CM1 and CM2 examinations will be delivered online. Both elements, A and B, will need to be sat during the same examination sitting.
Start times for the new online examinations will be between 08:00 and 10:00 UK time. You will be advised of your personal start time by email two weeks before the examination date.
Please note that due to the expected high demand from IFoA Student members and to ensure a smooth transition to our new online CS and CM examinations, for September 2020 we are only able to accommodate IFoA Student members. Non-members unable sit the IFoA CS and CM exams can find more information on our Non-member web page.
Examination results
Candidates will receive personal notifications of their examination results.
Core Principles subjects (CB1-2; CM1-2, CS1-2): Tuesday 15 December 2020
Core Practices, Specialist Principles and Specialist Advanced subjects: Thursday 17 December 2020
The IFoA has already announced that public pass-lists will no longer be published from April 2020.
