How do I apply?

You will need to demonstrate that your professional qualifications covered the IFoA subjects that you want to apply for exemption from.

To do this you will need to complete the application form and send the following information:

  • Evidence of the qualification and the grades gained
  • Details of the syllabus followed
  • Copies of examination papers sat

The copies must be certified copies signed by your employer, who must be an actuary.

Please provide certified copies of your documentation, as we cannot accept responsibility for loss of your original documents

The person certifying the documents must be either a Fellow or Associate employed by your company who is a member of either the IFoA or of an IAA recognised actuarial association.

What happens once I've sent the information?

We will review whether your qualification covered enough of the IFoA syllabus(es) and check whether your marks were high enough. We will inform you in writing of the outcome of your exemption application.
