The disbanded Takaful Life Insurance Working Party had the aim of adding to the overall body of knowledge of takaful and advancing actuarial science
The objectives of the Takaful Life Insurance Working Party are to:
- understand and explore the main proposition of takaful, in particular surplus distribution
- assess the capital requirements of takaful business, comparing and contrasting to insurance business as well as its implications
- understand how actuarial science can contribute to the better financial management of takaful business and what areas of the science would need enhancement to meet the specific nature of takaful business.

- presentation at Life conference 2014: Takaful - Insurance the Islamic Way - and the role of actuaries
