Cian hails from Dublin originally, but moved to London after leaving university to begin his actuarial career. He joined Towers Watson in the autumn of 2011, where he spent two years working on reserving and capital modelling projects for a variety of London Market clients. Cian has since left Towers to take a position on the capital modelling team at XL Reinsurance, where he works primarily on developing underwriting risk models.
Cian has been involved with the London Market Students’ Group throughout his career and considers it a fantastic resource for learning the views of senior actuaries on topical market issues; not to mention the excellent opportunities it affords for networking with other students. In early 2014 he was elected as Chair of the Group and he is enthusiastic about his new role.
