Actuarial Partner - Dorian.Hicks@mazars.co.uk

Dorian has twenty years of general insurance experience. He has a deep understanding of audit support, having led on non-life actuarial workstreams for numerous large and complex insurers, and wider consultancy projects, such as M&A, S166s, Part VII Transfers, capital quantification, pricing, and of course reserving. He has also been seconded to work at numerous insurers in a range of roles including Finance Director, Chief Actuary (twice), Capital Actuary and Head of Claims Risk. Dorian holds both a Chief Actuary Practising Certificate and a Lloyd’s Syndicate Actuary Certificate.

Tom has significant experience focusing on reserving, expert witness support, the Solvency II standard formula, and actuarial audits. He has led numerous actuarial engagements, including reserve reviews, capital projections and reinsurance modelling. He has also been involved in numerous expert witness projects including Part VII transfers and actuarial analysis of insurance-related legal proceedings.

James joined Mazars in March 2021 as a Partner to lead our Actuarial Life practice. Before joining Mazars he was a Director at PwC (London & New York) and a Principal at Boston Consulting Group. He has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and in recent years he has a strong focus on risk capital quantification approaches as well as IFRS 17 implementation.
