The Products Research Group of the Pensions and Long Term Care Working Party will be presenting a sessional paper on ‘The Future of Social Care Funding – Who Pays?’

The Products Research Group of the Pensions and Long Term Care Working Party will be presenting a sessional paper on ‘The Future of Social Care Funding – Who Pays?’.  The paper describes the pensions and social care environment providing analysis and recommendations on how the current funding system could be improved, including discussion of potential financial products that could be part of the solution.

The sessional paper considers:

  • how pensions and wider financial products  can be used to help meet potential care costs, particularly in the light of the new pensions framework
  • the complexity of the proposed care funding system, via a set of case studies
  • whether means-testing thresholds are an incentive to save for care costs.

The sessional research paper is now available to download for those registered to attend via the programme tab. The paper will be available to everyone after the event via the Archive section of the website.
