As part of the CMI’s centenary year in 2024, Dave Grimshaw (the CMI Secretary between 2006 and 2021, and former CMI volunteer) has written a book “A jewel in our crown – The first 100 years of the CMI” documenting the history of the CMI over its first 100 years. The book has four main sections:
- Part A describes (approximately) the first 50 years of the CMI, primarily based on existing sources but also includes Dave’s observations.
- Parts B and C describe subsequent developments, with Part B covering to 1999 and Part C covering 1999 to 2024.
- Part D is briefer and sets out thoughts on the current position and the future of the CMI.
