This Research Working Party is concerned with looking at Solvency II's objectives and analysing the outcome of the final regulation against those goals
Objectives:
The Working Party produced a sessional meeting paper, which was presented at several events. The working party gave members of the profession the opportunity to share their views on the outcome of Solvency II from a life insurance company’s perspective.
The working party held a number of consultation meetings with stakeholders, and poduced a paper based on these meetings and thier further research. here there were conflicting views, these were highlighted and the competing arguments were set out.
The working party disbanded in November 2017, having fulfilled its remit.

- A presentation at Life Conference 2016
- A presentation at the dual site sessional meeting in Edinburgh and London on 23 January 2017, to review the IFoA response to the Treasury Select Committee on EU Insurance Regulations
- Research paper published on 8 May 2017
- A sessional meeting took place in Edinburgh on 8 May 2017 and on 11 September 2017 in London
- Presentation made at the Society of Actuaries in Ireland Annual Convention in June 2017
