Sale of The Actuary to the IFoA - Joint SIAS/IFoA Statement

For a number of years, Staple Inn Actuarial Society (SIAS) has produced The Actuary magazine and managed The Actuary Jobs sites in a successful partnership with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA). In September 2015, SIAS agreed to sell The Actuary title and jobsites to the IFoA.

CERA: the Globally-Recognised Risk Management Qualification – now at 2800!

The CERA Global Association (CGA) is pleased to announce that there are now 2800 CERA holders. The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) has seen a 42% increase since this time last year and overall there has been a 23% increase in CERA holders since August 2014.
Increases in life expectancy between 2011 and 2015 much lower than in the past

Analysis released today (28 September) by the Continuous Mortality Investigation (CMI) shows that increases in life expectancy between 2011 and 2015 have been much lower than in the past. And life expectancy at age 75 has shown no improvement at all between 2011 and 2015.
