Whilst the conflicts of interest working party has had a substantial response to the discussion paper from members (278 responses in total), for which it is very grateful, it has received relatively few responses from users of actuarial services, in spite of a wide distribution of the paper.   Before making final recommendations on the action to be taken, the working party considers it appropriate to make a further attempt to gain a fuller account of the views of users of actuarial services, in order that it can make recommendations for future policy based on sound and rounded evidence.

Responses to this further round of consultation with users are due back by 10 February.  The working party will then prepare a summary of the results of all its evidence-gathering for publication on the Profession’s website. A consultation paper containing the working party’s recommendations for action will also be published for consideration and response by members and others.

Further information can be found on the consultation and discussions web page.
