Working Paper 106: A proposed approach to closing off CMI mortality tables.
CMI Working Paper 106 was published in June 2018. It develops the approach of Working Paper 100 and describes methods for, and analyses the results of:
- determining populations at high ages; and
- extending graduating mortality rates to high ages.
These methods are used in the proposed “S3” Series graduations, described in Working Paper 107.
The paper seeks feedback on the proposed methods. This should be sent to HighAgeMortality@cmilimited.co.uk by 14 September 2018.
Other output
To accompany the paper, the Working Party has released software that enables users to use its methods to determine populations at high ages, and to test the impact of different parameter choices.
