On the 16 July, the UK Government presented its first Voluntary National Review (VNR) on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 17 goals are a universal call to action to end all forms of poverty and protect the planet. The review highlights strong progress on health-care, education, employment and inequality but further efforts were noted as being required to address the environment, housing, mental health and an ageing population.

The IFoA is currently calling for members to provide responses on how actuaries are relevant to the SDGs and how they can contribute to the goals being met.
