This session will look at global macro trends, climate change as a financial risk, the important role that the actuarial profession can play in transparancy within the financial sector, equity protection, the current market for private credit, biases in trustee decision making, and pension fund investment relating to governance in the mid twentieth century. -

Half day workshop: Decumulation and Investment Return-Sharing: What is the Latest Research?

This workshop will showcase the latest research being carried out by the IFoA’s Actuarial Research Centre through the commissioned research programme ‘Minimising Longevity and Investment Risk while Optimising Future Pension Plans’.The programme is seeking to develop pension product designs that keep the customers' needs at the forefront, with a real income in retirement that minimises costs for the customer.

Networking Event - The Stochastic Full Balance Sheet Model

Insurance Investment Roundtable (IFoA & PRA)
BMO Global Asset Management offices (Exchange House, Primrose Street, London, EC2A 2NY12 September 2018The IFoA hosts regular roundtable meetings with the PRA on best practice in insurance investment and the application of the Prudent Person Principle, which governs insurance investment under Solvency II.
These roundtables are organised by the IFoA’s Finance and Investment Practice Board, supporting its members with access to relevant information on industry and regulatory developments. They have been attended by a diverse group of IFoA members, including insurance CIOs and Heads of ALM, actuarial and investment consultants, insurance asset managers, and investment bankers.
