The responsibilities of the Actuarial Function are widespread. Such an important role is this that the IFoA has made a practicing certificate mandatory for its members assuming this position, henceforth called the Chief Actuary. The Chief Actuary now needs to consider underwriting, reinsurance and risk, beyond the traditional playing fields of reserving and capital. So what is expected by the legislation? What is expected by the PRA?
