The Life Research Sub-committee, which oversees between 14 and 20 working parties, is seeking to recruit up to two new members, who could be Fellows or Associates or academics with expertise in actuarial, life insurance or related fields to volunteer to join this Sub-committee to help drive the development of actuarial practice in the Life area.

At this event you will have the opportunity to hear first-hand from a number of members who have worked overseas. They will share their experiences not only of actuarial work overseas, but their practical experience of living and working overseas, what they wished they understood before the embarked upon this opportunity and how they successfully returned back to the UK.

Exam centre closures in Hanoi, Hong Kong and Shenzhen

The CA1 paper 1 and the CT5 exams on Monday 17 September have been postponed in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Hanoi, and will not take place on this date, and the exams will be rescheduled.
All affected candidates have been emailed about this. We will be in contact with new exam dates early next week.

Update from the GI Flood Working Party
12 September 2018
Philippa King will be stepping down as chair of the GI Flood Working Party this autumn, after two years of leading the group. She has taken up a role on the GI Board, which will focus on engagement of early career members with the IFoA.
Philippa said “Volunteering for the IFoA continues to be very rewarding for me. The Flood Working Party has enabled me to get to know other actuaries in the industry, and has opened career opportunities. I would like to thank the many people who have supported the work we’ve done.
