The Curriculum page guides students to supporting resources and exam papers for IFoA examination subjects. Core reading, available from the IFoA eshop, is the first source reference to use when preparing for each IFoA examination. Students may also choose to purchase and work with materials produced by providers of tuition that address the IFoA exam syllabus.
For most examination subjects, the IFoA Library Services offers 'Resources' pages that list suggested additional reading and references, some with links to online content. These are not examined or required reading but may complement subject syllabus study. However, there are also some textbooks that do form 'core reading' for examinations CB2, SP6, and SP9. The links below will take you to the relevant curriculum exam resources subject page. We have grouped the Resources for all exam subjects here so that you can see the full range of current instructive publications on actuarial topics and quickly navigate to your chosen subject.

Access to digital resources
After you have logged in via member login to the Actuarial Knowledge Hub, you can follow 'Access ebook' links to book titles listed from the Resources pages above for each exam subject. The Library Service will recommend the route to ebooks when the borrowing of printed library books may not be as practicable or cost-effective for you, particularly for our students overseas. More eBooks complementing IFoA exam studies are continuously being added to our eLibrary platform as they become available.
For non-members who have registered for the next CM1, CS2, or SP9 exams, the IFoA Library Service will set up an OpenAthens account and special login upon request for you to access those ebooks listed for these exams only. Access will be effective for the period up to the end of the exam session. Please contact libraries@actuaries.org.uk to request this access after you have confirmation of your exam registration. Please see exam dates for when registration opens.
